IP Lookup

Query IP address location, ISP, and other details. Supports IPv4/IPv6 and domain names.

What is an IP Address?

An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. It serves two main functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing. Common versions include IPv4 (e.g., 192.168.1.1) and the newer IPv6 format.

How does IP Geolocation work?

IP geolocation works by querying massive global IP address databases. These databases are maintained by major Internet Service Providers (ISPs), registries, and geolocation service providers. They record which country, city, and ISP specific IP ranges are assigned to. While it cannot pinpoint a specific street address, the accuracy at the country, state, and city level is very high.

Why do I need an IP Lookup tool?

  • Network Troubleshooting: Confirm if your device is correctly connected to the internet, or check if you have successfully connected to a specific proxy server/VPN.
  • Security Analysis: By looking up the origin of unfamiliar IPs in server logs or website access records, you can identify potential malicious attacks, bots, or spam traffic.
  • DNS Resolution Check: This tool supports domain names (like google.com). It helps you quickly see which real server IP the domain currently resolves to, facilitating DNS troubleshooting.

How to use this tool?

Upon entering the page, the system automatically detects and displays your current "Local IP". You can also type any valid IPv4, IPv6 address, or domain name into the search box. Click search to get detailed information about its location, ISP, coordinates, and timezone.
